Like the All for You project, Janet was looking for a greater variety of producers to contribute to her next album, Damita Jo. While many of the same names were thrown around as before, Janet was specifically looking for producers who were in touch with their emotions to help craft this deeply personal LP. 'Ye teamed up with Janet’s standard team production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to create three tracks on the album, including the first single, “I Want You.” Unfortunately, the song, which got favorable reviews for its throwback Motown groove, got lost in the shuffle after the Super Bowl XXXVIII incident, which caused untold damage to Janet's career.
