Kelela has a banger on her hands with the throwback-leaning sound of her latest single "Rewind." The single, which sounds like an amalgamation of the best elements of the '90s fusion of R&B and Miami Bass, pretty much dares you to not run to the nearest dance floor and shake (but not break) what your mama gave ya. She doubles down on the track's dance-worthiness in the song's recently released video.
We follow Kelela as she floats along in what appears to be an abandoned building as fluorescent and neon lights flicker about, providing mood lighting that gives the video a bit of edge. The rest of the edge is supplied by Kelela herself, who goes solo on this outing as she rocks her shorter 'do (which she gave herself in the clip for "A Message") and some tomboyish-ly sexy outfits. Stopping here and there to cut a rug and body roll with the best of them, the singer serves up sporty, sexy and cool with very little effort as she shows off her pipes, further proving that she's a rising star to watch.
