It's always interesting when two minds of different generations meet. And when those two minds happen to be one of the most legendary producers of all time and the transcendent current king of hip hop, the conversation is a must-hear. Such was the case when Compton's own Kendrick Lamar sat down with music legend Quincy Jones for an interview.

Just as you would expect, the interview was both informative and entertaining. The two of course spoke about music, with Kendrick inquiring about what all '80s babies know Jones for the most, producing Michael Jackson's record-breaking album Thriller. But Quincy also dished on quite a few topics, including his rough upbringing, racism and the origins of hip hop.

"Do you know where rap came from?" the legend asks at one point. Kendrick replies, "The Bronx," which elicits an incredulous response from Jones. "It came from Africa," Quincy informs as he begins giving the good kid an impromptu history lesson.
