While Lalah Hathaway has been curating #LittleGhettoBoyArt via her Tumblr to showcase the talents, contributions and beauty of Black people, she hasn't forgotten to promote her own art, either. Her long-awaited live album, Lalah Hathaway LIVE!, will hit stores on October 3oth and she currently has two singles, "Angel" and "Little Ghetto Boy," out now. Combining the spirit of her Tumblr and "Little Ghetto Boy," Lalah now gives us a visual for her cover of her father's classic track.

The singer's approach to the clip is as laid back as the clip's Cali setting. Lalah cruises on the avenue as she encounters black boys and men along her way. Some, like Affion Crockett, Darryl Stephens, Terrace Martin, Russell Taylor, Rahsaan Patterson and Snoop Dogg, are a bit more recognizable while others are the types that you'd find around your way. However, through the video, Lalah illustrates that they each have their own value and uniqueness in this world, with the song's final line ("Everything has got to get better") serving as a rallying cry for change in a society where we have to prove that Black lives do indeed matter.

The timely visual is the first from Lalah Hathaway LIVE!, though we're more than certain that it won't be the last. While we wait for more, check out "Little Ghetto Boy" below and be sure to pre-order the album now on Amazon and iTunes. If you're in New York City and Washington, DC, you can experience Lalah Hathaway live for yourselves at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in NYC on September 22nd and 23rd and at Howard Theatre in DC on September 26th and 28th.
