Last week's telecast of The Wiz Live! went over like gangbusters, netting NBC 11 million viewers as Dorothy and her squad eased on down the yellow brick road during one of the best live musical adaptations to appear on television since NBC reintroduced the medium back to our TV screens two years ago with The Sound of Music. With all those viewers up for grabs, it's no surprise that another network wants in on the act. Enter FOX, which is set to air its own live musical with Grease: Live, with the draw of some of today's hottest young stars, including budding starlet Keke Palmer.
Keke will be playing Marty, who is part of the 1950s-set musical's Pink Ladies crew. The Scream Queens star, who recently caused a stir with her latest music video "I Don't Belong to You," shows off some of her finest moves as she and other stars of Grease: Live — including Vanessa Hudgens, Carly Rae Jepsen, Aaron Tveit and Julianne Hough — do their best hand jive in the event's first trailer. Keke looks cute as a button in her short brunette wig and blue scarf as she dons period gear in a high school hallway, complete with red lockers and checkerboard tile on the floors. Though it's only 30 seconds long, it's definitely enough to have us curious as to what to expect.
Grease: Live is set to air on FOX on January 31st. Be sure to check your local listings for the exact time and check out the trailer below.
