Who needs a maternity shoot when you can just make a music video? That's exactly what Canadian songstress Melanie Fiona did for her latest video featuring her beautiful baby bump. Speaking of babies, the video is for her latest single "I Want It All," from her upcoming 2016 album Awake. The visuals, directed by Kawai Matthews and Melanie, feature the songstress belting out the single and rubbing her belly while standing in front of a dark backdrop. The track, written by Fiona and produced by Andre "Dre" Harris, is a beautiful and vulnerable ballad where Melanie tells us exactly what she wants. "Well I've never been one for the rules / I see no limit to what I can do / I'm up for the challenge, in spite of you / If not me, then who?" she sings. Both the single and the visuals match perfectly, giving us a natural, simple and effortless picture of Melanie.
Now that Ms. Fiona is finally releasing her new album, her first studio album since 2012's The MF Life, we have a few things to look forward to in 2016. If this track is any indication of what we can expect from the songstress from the 6, we may just be ready to purchase Awake.
