Singers from across the pond have occupied a huge space in music lately, with the likes of Adele and Sam Smith achieving great success stateside. Bounce-Worthy, London-based songstress JONES continues in that mold of Brits with soulful sensibilities unique enough to not be boxed in by the U.S. labels of pop or R&B.

For her latest musical feat, JONES takes the dance track “How Deep Is Your Love” by super producer/DJ Calvin Harris & Disciples with vocals by Ina Wroldsen and completely deviates from the source. This is quite an accomplishment because the original is rather well-known as one of the top dance hits of 2015. JONES’ cover is uniquely its own song with the tempo slowed down and the electronic foundation stripped bare in an emotional acoustic rendering. JONES’ voice is filled with raw longing, paired with simple accompaniments. Jones takes such welcomed liberties with the harmonies and ad-libs that it's easy to forget the origins of this cover.

With the majority of the United States in the midst of freezing temperatures and digging out from under heavy snow, this cover has us longing for spring’s warmth, the promise of blossoming love and whatever JONES brings us next. Until then, you can add this song and an equally lovely acoustic version of her track "Hoops" to your collection via Amazon or iTunes.
