OVO Sound R&B group Majid Jordan are back with another electro-smooth groove in anticipation of their upcoming album. The team of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman has impressed us for a while now, going back to their EP A Place Like This. Their latest song “Every Step Every Way” is just as impressive.
On the track, Majid tries to reassure his love interest that he won’t leave her behind for greener pastures. He sweetly sings, “I just want to settle down and build you up” and “I just want to take you places / I’ll be there every step, every way for you.” The track vacillates between sparse, bare bones production and bouncy synths against drums, bass and chimes, creating a perfect atmospheric dance track. As usual, the duo trade notes seamlessly, melding into one ludicrously alluring sound. While the boys are a little too Ralph Tresvant-y sensitive at times, it doesn’t stop this song from being a great jam.
“Every Step Every Way” is the third track from Majid Jordan’s upcoming full-length self-titled album, which promises to feature their previously released tracks “Learn From Each Other” and “My Love” featuring Drake. The duo’s silky smooth electro R&B will arrive just in time to help you serenade your boo thang or your potential bae when it drops on February 5th.
