Expect Lalah Hathaway, Rahsaan Patterson & More At The First ‘Los Angeles Soul Music Festival’ This Summer

With its pleasant weather, ample beaches, unique shops, buzzing nightlife and daily potential for celebrity sightings, the city of Los Angeles pretty much sells itself as a vacation destination. But if you're still not convinced, then the Los Angeles Soul Music Festival might be just the enticement you need to visit the West Coast hub this summer.

Billed as a celebration of all things "soul," the three-day "rain or shine" event takes place July 22nd through July 24th at Autry National Center. Unlike many summer festivals, this outdoor event will only have one stage. But we think after reading the names on the current line-up, you'll agree that this particular stage is gonna be LIT.

For starters, they've booked the transcendent voices of Lalah Hathaway and Rahsaan Patterson. Although they are fantastic on their own, we're willing to bet that these offstage besties will end up performing together at some point during the weekend. And if they reprise their LAH! & RAH! Show antics, even better! Award-winning R&B powerhouses Angie Stone and Melanie Fiona will also grace the LASMF stage.  Whether channeling old school soul or alt-R&B, both are equally skilled at moving us with powerful ballads and making us groove through the night.

Soul sista faves Goapale, Avery*Sunshine and Vivian Green are proven crowd-pleasers. These multi-talented songstresses embody their own distinctive sound and style, but all three of them know how to connect with an audience and move us like no other. Lastly, soul brothas Dwele and Lyfe Jennings will be around to woo the ladies, drop some knowledge and light up the stage with their charm and realness.

In addition to the amazing music, there will be ample shopping opportunities with over 75 vendor booths set up throughout the weekend.  And with two Beer & Wine Gardens, plus over 20 food truck options, there'll be no shortage of noshes and libations. Early bird pricing for General Admission and Premium tickets will be available starting March 1st. In the meantime, visit the website for additional details and connect with LASMF on Facebook and Twitter for updates on new artists that will be added in the coming months.
