After getting dynamic performances from the likes of Pastor Shirley Caesar and Anthony Hamilton, Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Chaka Khan and Yolanda Adams and Tank, the BET Celebration of Gospel 2016 audience was in store for more when Kirk Franklin took the stage. Energy is what we always expect from Kirk and energy is exactly what we got. The enthusiastic gospel artist, along with six background singers, performed a mashup of his biggest hits "Wanna Be Happy?" and "123 Victory." While his harmonic crew infused the spirit in "Wanna Be Happy?," Kirk stood behind the keyboard and instructed us to "sing with your boy!" In the midst of the audience head-bopping in sync, Kirk switched it up on us by changing scenes and his wardrobe to get into his dance ministry with the performance of "123 Victory."

Once the beat dropped, Kirk was joined by male dancers decked out in track suits and adidas shoes as they stomped, breakdanced and dabbed through the track. Playing his own hype man, Kirk impressed the BET audience with his dance moves and also his advocacy. At the end of the victorious performance, his background singers lifted signs and Kirk and his dance crew wore shirts that read, "Black Lives Still Matter." A poignant end to an uplifting performance, watch Kirk and his crew perform "Wanna Be Happy?" and "123 Victory" right here and get ready to get on your feet.
