We’ve Got A ‘Crush’ On Yuna & Usher’s Collaboration

Yuna definitely has us excited for her upcoming album Chapters. The Malaysian singer/songwriter introduced the upcoming set to us with the hip hop-tinged (and DJ Premier-produced) "Places To Go." It was a welcome departure from Yuna's style while keeping the elements of her craft — namely her quiet, beautifully controlled vocals and attention to lyrics — the same. Yuna keeps that momentum going with the set's second single, "Crush," which is a duet with none other than R&B heartthrob Usher — and you'll definitely want to take a listen.

As its title suggests, "Crush" is a dreamy duet about love. However, while most songs about the subject deal with the unrequited aspect, this budding love seems reciprocated. Warm synths and guitar lull us into the track as Yuna details the beginning of what seems to be a lovely afternoon. By the chorus, though, she's realizing that her feelings might be more than just friendly. "I feel a little rush / I think I've got a little crush on you," she sings. Usher then joins on the second verse, letting her know that he feels the same way, too. From there, it becomes a romantic duet, with the two trading verses as strings spill onto the track and the romantic vibes are cranked up even more.

It's definitely an unexpected collaboration between the two, but one that we're more than glad came to fruition. Fall under Yuna and Usher's spell when you press play below. Chapters is set to arrive on May 20th.
