NAO Makes Heartbreak Sound Good On 'Fool To Love'

A murky bass line, harmonizing synths and consistent percussive chops all help piece together NAO’s latest song, “Fool To Love.” The song wastes no time as it opens with the ambient lyrics, “I was a fool to love.” As the main instruments continue throughout, only dying down during the bridge, NAO flexes her lyricism. She adds a bit of rasp to her natural falsetto as she hits the chorus singing out about her faulty love choice.

With "Fool To Love," the British singer has delivered quite a catchy tune about heartbreak and heartache. The topic is one that many of us comprehend far too well, but its uptempo groove is one that you'll probably catch yourself swaying to instead of wanting to curl up into a fetal position like typical songs of that ilk from Sade or Adele.

“Fool To Love” follows NAO's late-2015 breakout hit “Bad Blood” with a tempo switch but a just as stylishly written melody. The song is simple yet potent and leaves us all on the lookout for a full project from the imminent R&B star with two dope EPs (So Good and February 15th) to her credit already. Scoop up this single on iTunes, and stalk NAO's SoundCloud for more fresh electro soul goodies.
