Sometimes all you need is the perfect wing eyeliner and a beautiful smile. Such was the case when a little girl, decked out in all pink with a scarf on her hair and styled like a miniature Andra Day, stepped on stage to introduce the songstress during last night's Black Girls Rock! 2016. After amazing performances from Jazmine Sullivan and Brandy, it was Andra's turn to show the audience how she rocks with "Rise Up." Mini Andra introduced the GRAMMY-nominated single as a song that could be "transformative, encouraging and healing for those that need it," and the songstress made sure of it while standing in the center of the stage ready to wow the audience.

Backed by the all-female house band, the screen also showed images of women holding up signs like "I rise above social injustice" and "I rise above religious intolerance" to reinforce the message of hope and resilience. When an all-female choir joined Andra for the last minute of the single, the singer used her powerful, velvety vocals to invoke even more goosebumps than we already had.

Andra ended her performance in tears as the audience gave her a standing ovation, proving again that Black girls do in fact rock. If you ever want to experience Andra live, you can catch her on a global tour with fellow fan of nostalgia, Leon Bridges. Until then, keep your box of tissues near and watch Andra Day's performance of "Rise Up" at Black Girls Rock! 2016 below.
