In an effort to educate and entertain audiences old and new, the 39th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival returns this year with a diverse lineup. Held in Atlanta's historic Piedmont Park, the annual festival will fill the city with jazz during Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 27th through Sunday, May 29th. Featuring acts such as Joi, Gregory Porter and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, the festival promises "a wide variety of jazz flavors on three stages," and all for free. Past performers have included jazz greats Sarah Vaughn, Miles Davis and Nina Simone and contemporary artists Esperanza Spalding, Robert Glasper Experiment and Thundercat.
This year's festival lineup features acts that cross genres, including Eliane Elias, Etienne Charles, Tomeka Reid, Chandra Currelley, Daby Touré and Benny Golson just to name a few. You can find the complete lineup on AJF's website and follow festival updates on Twitter and Facebook.
