Now that Newark-based singer/songwriter Billzegypt is a part of the Vibe Music Collective (home to SoulBounce faves like Gwen Bunn, Arima Ederra, JaVonté and Sonnymoon), she's gearing up for her first release under the group's label, The Billy Blues. As a preview of what's to come, she recently released a smooth collaboration with fellow VMC member Iman Omari called "Bring It Back."
Brimming with equal parts woeful regret and wistful yearning, Billz and Iman's effortless vocals compliment each other perfectly as they offer up views from both sides of the relationship. Warm and lush with a jazzy bass line, hip hop drums and layered harmonies, this tale of love lost is a lovely introduction to the soulful newcomer.
