Despite some initial hiccups with her ANTI release, Rihanna is having a pretty fantastic year. In addition to dominating the charts (both as a solo artist and a featured artist), her superstardom has helped fuel successful ventures in everything from fragrance to eyewear. Now, the Bajan bad gyal has the distinction of premiering the first ever IMAX music video for her song "Sledgehammer."

The sweeping Sia-penned anthem from the Star Trek Beyond soundtrack was released earlier this week and left us thoroughly impressed with RiRi's vocal development. But the Floria Sigismondi-directed visual, the first music video to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras, has truly cemented our fascination. Draped in billowy fire-red couture and adorned with celestial tattoos and jewels, Rihanna stands out against a desert-like backdrop on an unknown planet. The intergalactic goddess wields her power over the terra firma, forming dazzling orbs and moving boulders with her mind before burrowing deep into the foundation and transforming into a dazzling stelliform.

The clip premiered this morning (June 30th) in IMAX theatres nationwide, but luckily you don't have to purchase a movie ticket, just scroll down and enjoy. Then check out the featurette highlighting Rihanna's fangirl allegiance to the Star Trek franchise. Even though she's currently in the midst of a world tour and gearing up for her headlining show at this year's Made In America Fest, we're sure she'll be geeked when Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22nd.
