Anthony David laced us pretty nicely this past spring with the release of his latest single, "Beautiful Problem," and the announcement of his upcoming album The Powerful NOW. But as he toured throughout the summer, including a stop at the second annual ATL Soul Life Festival, no word came about when we could expect the project. We have to wait no longer, though, as he's just announced that the album will be released at the end of this month and also finally dropped the video for "Beautiful Problem" to tide us over.
The clip for "Beautiful Problem" is just as, well, beautiful as the song. Shot in stunning black and white, it features Anthony and a couple lovely women posing and dancing to the song's hypnotic groove. Though the video only utilizes the bare minimum in set design, with Anthony and the women set either againt an all-white or all-black backdrop, they perform their hearts out to the track. Then, as an added bonus, Anthony's longtime friend and frequent collaborator India.Arie shows up at video's end to sing along (which is fitting, as the final moments of the song interpolates her 2001 song "Beautiful" to great effect). The sleek, sophisticated clip definitely has us looking forward to what Acey Duecy will be bringing when the album drops.
