Mila J. Wants To Be 'Down' With You

Mila J. dropped her Cali-inspired EP 213 in June, and she's taking us back to the '90s in her latest single "Down." Taking a few bars from Brandy's 1994 single "I Wanna Be Down," the songstress delivers a mid-tempo track just in time to wrap up the summer. Unlike the teenage naiveté featured in Brandy's single, Mila J has a mature command that makes the track a scorcher. Mila uses her sweet vocals to purr over the track, singing, "She look like she come from Japan / She badass, she don't need a man / She crazy, she sexy, she bad / She crazy, she sexy, she bad." Equipped with snaps and a fluid instrumental, the single can serve as the backdrop to your future romantic endeavors.

Mila J. released a tribute to Prince in May with her "Erotic City" cover and also released the Janet Jackson-inspired visual to "Kickin' Back," another 213 track, in June. While it's almost the end of summer and we don't have a full-length album from the songstress just yet, we can always count on her to drop some worthy loosies. Until she does release her debut, you can always kick back with us and listen to her California cool EP on SoundCloud or purchase it on Amazon or iTunes.
