After helping to set off last year's Summer Spirit Festival, Avery*Sunshine was invited back to do it again this year at the 2016 Summer Spirit Festival and she delivered. Wearing a bright yellow, long-sleeved top with a smile equally as radiant, Avery strutted onto the stage and sat at her keyboard. Backed by her band The Trustees, Avery launched into her songs "I Got Sunshine" and "All In My Head," which she blended in Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" and took time to strike some dramatic poses for a comical Instagram photo break.

She included more covers in her set, such as Aretha Franklin's "Day Dreaming" and R. Kelly's "Step In the Name of Love." Sunshine also serenaded her husband Dana Johnson, guitarist for The Trustees, and dedicated a new song to him. On the track "Ice Cream Song," she sang, "I'd give up ice cream just for you / I'd sell my bags and give away my shoes," on the hilarious but loving chorus. The lovefest didn't end there, with Avery singing her number one hit "Call My Name" before giving glory to God with a gospel song for her final number.

With the stellar performance that she gave and round of applause that she received, Avery*Sunshine all but guaranteed that she'd be invited back to threepeat at the 2017 Summer Spirit Festival.
