Closing out the second day of the 2016 Summer Spirit Festival was Jill Scott who shut it down as only she can. Jilly From Philly had the DMV audience wide open from her first note to her last as she sang selections from practically every album in her robust catalog. Dressed in a flowing black-and-white striped outfit and statement necklace with her braids done up in a partial topknot, Scott was her usual radiant self. She brought it visually and vocally on songs like "He Loves Me (Lyzel In E Flat)," 'The Way," "Whatever," "Real Thing" and "It's Love" that got the audience crankin' to its go-go swing. Of course, she included tracks "Fool's Gold" and "Can't Wait" from her 2015 album, Woman, into her show as well. Over the course of her headlining set, Jill Scott told it like it is, broke it down and brought the fire and the feels.
