I actually was introduced to Brandon Delagraentiss in Berlin at house music wunderkind Andy Roda’s wildly successful concert series The Church of Berlin where I was performing. He was in town doing some gospel music workshops and I told him I was coming to Amsterdam soon, so we stayed in touch. A gifted actor, singer, teacher, director, host and model originally from Houston, Texas, he began his career singing as a young child in The Delagraentiss 7 (think an inspirational version of the Jackson 5). A degree in Theatre Performance from The University of Houston proved to be a solid foundation that would lead him to performances spanning the globe in prestigious theatres and concert halls, the Off-Broadway musical Pure Gospel America and even the World Cup.
Most recently, Brandon was selected as a semi-finalist for the musical reality television show The Voice (Holland). As a result, he has become one of the most highly sought after voices in various spheres of the Dutch music world ranging from gospel, soul and musical theatre having performed with multiple top artists including the ZO! Gospel Choir. To date, he has recorded two albums, released multiple singles and is a part of the house band for one of Holland’s top late night shows, DINO (alongside one of the artists from part of of my Dutch soul series, the ever-dope Sarah Jane).
