We got to start off the year right with Anderson .Paak's breakthrough album Malibu, and it seems like he's been all over our lives ever since — from singles to videos to TV to tours to guest appearances on hot records. But if you thought that was all we were getting from AP this year, think again! Reteaming with his right-hand man and hip-hop producer Knxwledge, it's on once again for their duo NxWorries. The talented twosome is set to drop their debut album Yes Lawd!, the official follow up to last year's stellar Link Up & Suede EP. That news by itself is enough to brighten our day, but then they had to go and sweeten the deal by releasing new single "Lyk Dis" and now we're floating on a cloud.
If you'll recall, at the tail end of their video for the playa-rific track "Suede," Anderson and Knxwledge rode out to a smooth and sexy little number that left us wanting much more. Well that track was "Lyk Dis" and, fully fleshed out, it's more than we could ask for. Knxwledge flips a slick soul sample as the base of the track, incorporating a velvety bass line and loop of strings and ticking production while seduces us with his raspy come-ons. He makes the most lascivious things sound like game ("Don't want your heart, don't want your love / I want the head, I want the tongue / Who put the p***y in the coffin? / Then make it rise to God above") before giving exact directions on how he wants it in the bedroom. Altogether, it sounds so sweet that you can't help but nod your head and comply.
