The lineup for Durham, North Carolina's Art of Cool Festival 2017 was already impressive with the likes of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Just Blaze, Terrace Martin, GoldLink, JMSN and The Hamiltones on the bill. Now the good folks at The Art of Cool Project, the music festival's parent organization, have kicked things up several notches with the addition of rapper/actor/activist Common to the lineup.
In partnership with DPAC, the Durham Performing Arts Center, AOC Project added Common as the Saturday night headliner to the AOC Festival, which will take place the weekend of April 28-30, 2017. The hip-hop superstar will take the stage at the beautiful DPAC facility on April 29th and perform his new Black America Again jams, hit songs and crowd favorites for fans gathered in Durham for AOC Festival festivities. Apparently he won't be alone, with "special guests" said to be joining him. Now, we know that Common's contacts list is long and he has a who's who of music heavyweights on speed dial, so we can't wait to find out who will be rocking the mic with him.
Needless to say, if you didn't already make plans to attend the Art of Cool Festival 2017 next year yet, you better get on board now because it's going to be a lituation. Tickets to see Common at the AOC Festival are being sold separately and will go on sale on Friday, December 16th. Anyone who has already purchased festival VIP Passes will be able to access premium seating for the Common show.
