The latest batch of performers for the 2017 Soul Beach Music Festival have been announced and judging by the looks of it, the picturesque beaches won't be the only thing driving people to Aruba next Memorial Day weekend. Mary J. Blige is the latest artist to be added to the burgeoning bill, which already includes The Roots and Usher.

Now in its 17th year, the annual festival kicks off May 24, 2017 and in addition to the live performances will also include several comedy shows and beach parties. Named the "#1 Caribbean Summer Festival" by Jetsetter Magazine, the five-day festival promises to bridge the gap between soul music and the Caribbean lifestyle. "Offering a collaboration of authentic culture and celebrated music, Aruba is thrilled to welcome such an impressive group of artists to our happy island, including R&B sensation, Mary J. Blige...the Soul Beach Music Festival will create treasured memories and unique experiences for all our visiting guests," Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, CEO of Aruba Tourism Authority, said in a statement.

Aruba has quietly become one of the go-to destinations for musical festivals thanks in large part to the Soul Beach Music Festival and the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival, which takes place every September.
