We're just days away from singer-songwriter Gabriel Garzón-Montano releasing his anticipated debut album, Jardín, but the Bounce-Worthy music man couldn't let that happen without giving us the project's first visual. He does just that with a clip for the album's latest single, "Crawl," showing us a quirky, slightly awkward and endearing side of himself in the process.
"Crawl," which is both a love letter and sly come on set to a poppy, soulful groove, seems like it would be the perfect time for Gabriel to go literal. And we could definitely see that video, with him and a leading lady getting all lovey-dovey as they get tangled up in each other. This isn't that video, however. Instead, Gabriel gives us a clip that features mostly him dancing around on empty sets as his soulful eyes stare intently at the camera. It has the effect of disarming the viewer and making us take an interest in the performer in front of us — and you'd best believe he takes full advantage of this. We get serious songwriter moments, we get awkward, interpretive dance-styled moves that somehow just work and, for added measure, we also get abstract animations all blending together to create one very interesting whole that you'll definitely want to see for yourself.
Speaking of seeing, Gabriel is also set to take his show on the road, lining 10 tour dates thus far in support of the album. He'll kick it all off this Thursday (January 26th) with his album release party at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg before making two stops in California and then making waves in Europe. Head to his website for ticket info and catch his itinerary after you peep the clip for "Crawl" below.
