Laura Mvula Found Out She Was Dropped From Label Via Email

Tamar wasn't the only one who experienced some shady dealings with Sony. During an interview with BBC, Dreaming Room singer-songwriter Laura Mvula revealed that she learned she was dropped from Sony's RCA Victor label via a forwarded email. As if that weren't disrespectful enough, she also learned that the label told her former manager the news in person. Just straight disrepectful. "I didn't see anyone, I didn't hear anybody's voice. I just read words. It felt so cold and cruel," she told BBC. "Not even the fact that I was dropped, the way that the whole thing happened. To be treated like that doesn't feel quite just." We wholeheartedly agree. Thankfully, it's impossible to silence a talent like Laura's. Though the singer may no longer be with Sony, she's still making major moves. She's been tapped to write the music for a new staging of Antony and Cleopatra for the Royal Shakespeare Company and she's looking forward to making another album and life as an independent artist. Go on with your bad self, Laura! #IndustryRule4080 #CantKeepAGoodWomanDown
