SoundCloud, You In Danger, Girl
We thought that SoundCloud was in trouble last week when it slashed jobs and closed a few offices. However, it looks like we didn't know the half. According to reports, the streaming service only has enough funding to ride out the next 50 days (well, 48 days now). Damn, homie! However, a spokesperson for the company said in a statement to The FADER, "To clarify, SoundCloud is fully funded into the fourth quarter. We continue to be confident the changes made last week put us on our path to profitability and ensure SoundCloud’s long-term viability." Any way you slice it, things aren't looking good for the 'Cloud. Perhaps that's why a few artists are already eulogizing the service. Can SoundCloud be saved?
