Did Chance The Rapper Actually Save SoundCloud?

When news broke last week that streaming service SoundCloud was on its last legs, Chance the Rapper sent out a cryptic tweet saying, “I’m working on the SoundCloud thing." Though we really thought nothing of it at the time, according to Variety, it seems as if Lil Chano wasn't playing around. He later sent another tweet which read, "Just had a very fruitful call with Alex Ljung [SoundCloud's co-founder]. @SoundCloud is here to stay.” Soon after that tweet, Ljung wrote a blog post echoing Chance's sentiments, writing, "Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. Some of you have asked how you can help–spread the word that we’re not going anywhere and keep doing what you’re doing – creating, listening, uploading, sharing, liking, and discovering what’s new, now and next in music. SoundCloud is here to stay.” While this is all well and good, it's still unclear whether or not Chance put some of his own cash in the game or if he's more so just showing support to a service that's been instrumental in his career. Either action definitely can't hurt, though. #CaptainSaveACo
