Ledisi Rises Up With 'High'

In a month's time, Ledisi will release her ninth studio album Let Love Rule. She's already stoked the fires of anticipation with the first single "High" and its follow-up "Add To Me." Now the SoulBounce fave throws some gasoline on the fire with the debut of the music video for "High," and she's got us all in.

Whereas the lyric video for "High" was a stripped-down affair featuring the singer casually dressed in all her natural beauty, our girl glams it up for the official visual. Ledisi struts down the street looking like royalty dressed in a purple and gold kimono style gown with her crown of curled locs perched atop her head. She's giving us Goddess of Soul vibes, and her voice is, in fact, a religious experience.

In the Noble Jones-directed video, Ledisi's vocals also have the power to lift people up – literally. Led walks around town singing "High," and as she passes by a couple at lunch, a woman reading in a park and a pair of street dancers, everyone begins to levitate. These people may be involuntarily floating in the air, but they are unbothered and quite content to have her song raise their bodies and spirits. The video wraps with Ledisi coming face-to-face with the one who makes her feel "High," and her walking tour ends in his embrace.
