For the past five seasons, fans of Mary Mary have been privy to the good, the bad and the ugly in the personal and professional lives of the award-winning sister duo thanks to their self-titled WE tv show. While there have been mostly good times, on more than one occasion Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell seemed on the verge of calling it quits. In fact, season five concluded with the group's future up in the air as they bumped heads once again. With the premiere date of the sixth and final season of Mary Mary set for September 28th on WE tv, viewers will finally get to see what will become of the group as both sisters pursue their own solo careers.
The six-episode season will see the sisters face their personal demons while also balancing their biggest world tour to date. Their travels even put them in harm's way as they navigate global terrorist threats and an emotional trip to the Holy Land. "We are grateful to our fans for going with us on this journey, from the highest of the highs to the lowest of lows, we can't wait to return this fall to complete this part of our story," Erica said in a statement.
Tina echoed that same sentiment, saying, "We've established an identity together and separately and you all have been with us for the entire ride. I can't possibly find the words to truly express my gratitude for this experience so I'll just say thank you, thank you, thank you, to everyone who made it happen and to everyone who watched it happen."
2017 has been a banner year for the television show as it earned a NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Reality Program/Reality Competition Series. Last season also reached 12.7 million viewers and was the #1 cable program in its time slot for African-American women 25-54. Be sure to tune in to what is sure to an exciting final season when Mary Mary premieres on Thursday. September 28th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on WE tv.
