Sunni Colón & Kaytranada Make The 'Little Things' Sound So Good

Many may argue that one of the keys to a successful relationship is to never stop showing your loved one how much you appreciate them. That's exactly the philosophy that singer Sunni Colón is championing in his latest single, "Little Things."

On the Kaytranada-produced single, Colón's first of 2017, his breezy vocals cruise along the track's groovy bass line as he tells his lover the best way to get to his heart lies in the tiny details. There's little room for error as he spells it out plainly with lyrics like, "It's the little things that matter / It's the little things that matter, to me / When you make me feel important / When you make me feel like matter, pull me." In a recent interview, he broke it down even further, providing insight into what he wanted to convey on the song. "I’m having a conversation about love and appreciating the present moment, without fixating on the past or future. It’s the little things in life that we as humans sometimes take for granted, and I decided to create a song that enables us to see through a conscious lens," he detailed.

For his part, Kaytranada delivers a track that is equal parts mellow and driving. The bass stays true to the signature head nodders that he tends to create. While the bass is one of the track's strongest features, it doesn't drown out Colón's voice, instead serving to add emphasis to the message the Los Angeles-bred/Paris-based crooner is trying to drive get across. If the song sounds familiar to you then it could be because it was featured on last week's episode of HBO's Insecure. Hit play and cool out to this laid-back track and see if Colón's message is heard loud and clear.
