Cheeto In Chief Drops Out of Kennedy Center Honors

This year's Kennedy Center Honors will be one to go down in the record books for two reasons. First, LL Cool J is going to be the first rapper to be honored at the prestigious arts event in Washington, D.C. The second: y'all's president, 45, will be breaking tradition and not attending the event. In the past, the President and First Lady would host a White House reception for the honorees and sit with them during the awards ceremony. Given the fact that #45 isn't a popular president and has been very critical of arts funding, many people see him being at the event as a slap in the face to artists everywhere. While LL isn't willing to let a little thing like politics stop his shine, most of the honorees have been giving the event the hard curve. TV icon Norman Lear said he'd be skipping the reception but would swing by pick up his award and get a to-go plate. Dancer and choreographer Carmen de Lavallade said she'd be washing her hair that night. And Lionel Ritchie and Gloria Estefan have given more empty promises than a friend who doesn't want to help you move. The Kennedy Center Honors was shaping up to be an honors ceremony with no honorees. How tragic! To avoid a "political distraction," 45 and the First Model will be skipping the event, the first time a sitting president hasn't been the hostess with the mostess. Instead, he'll be on a golf course somewhere using up taxpayer money. It's not impeachment, but we'll take it. #CantYouFeelABrandNewDay
