Prince's Favorite Color Was...Orange?!
Prince's name is so associated with purple that Pantone posthumously gave the "Purple Rain" singer his own special shade of the color last month. But what if we told you that purple wasn't even his favorite color? Actually, we don't have to tell you that at all, as his sister Tyka Nelson told the London Evening Standard exactly that while speaking to the paper about a Prince memorabilia exhibition. “The standout piece for me is his orange Cloud guitar," she said. "It is strange because people always associate the colour purple with Prince, but his favourite colour was actually orange.” Orange?! Really? However, if you look at Prince's appearances over recent years, it's easy to see that orange definitely made several appearances. But not so fast, as Prince's half-sister, Sharon Nelson, disputes Tyka's claims, saying in a statement to the Associated Press that “contrary to what has been said, purple was and is Prince’s color" and adding that “the color purple always made him feel Princely.” So, who's right? Only Prince knew the answer to that. However, we do know that purple will always be the color that comes to mind when we think of Prince. #PurpleStillReigns
