“Show Love” is a mellow ballad about getting over what ails you to find happiness. On the chorus, Sampah coos, “I’ve been around long enough to know / Life is up and down / Seesaw / I’ve got to veto my ego.” The track is a mid-tempo thumper with a rolling bassline and some bouncy synths. It's the perfect soundbed for both Syd and Sampha’s voices. The lyric video for the song is a clever homage to the science and sorcery of the recording studio. The camera pans around an empty recording studio, showing the lyrics to the song written on tape layered across the soundboard.

Syd and Sampha’s “Show Love” is the latest collabo from Everything Is Recorded. The project is the brainchild is XL Recordings label head Richard Russell who has been working on a number of collaborative tracks with various artists. We were previously treated to a jam session from Sampha, Ibeyi, Wiki and Kamasi Washington with “Mountains of Gold,” along with Sampha’s “Close But Not Quite.” Everything Is Recorded also boasts collabs with Giggs, Warren Ellis, Scritti Politti and many others. Russell's little project that could continues to astound us as more artists form like Voltron to create great music. Get into his latest masterpiece below.
