Stokley Williams Wants To Keep Things 'Organic'

Ever since the announcement of his long-awaited debut solo album Introducing Stokley, Stokley Williams has kept his loyal fans happy with the release of three singles, including "Levels," "Way Up" and "Think About U," a video to accompany the lead single and a number of performances across the country. The full project was released in June, but it remains in heavy rotation and the Mint Condition frontman is keeping the momentum going. Recently, he released his fourth single, “Organic,” and it is just the sort of smooth and straight R&B we crave as we enter into the cooler months.

“Organic” reiterates the importance of remaining true to oneself and letting things develop naturally. Over a slow groove that transports us right back to the golden era of '90s R&B, Stokley builds up to the vocal acrobatics we’ve come to love him for. He flexes his lyrical muscles as well as he sings, “Nothing is tainted or artificially flavored / I’m inundated, so fascinated / So please don’t change it.” He even assures his lover that she needn’t worry about competing with “girls who are quick to show off everything,” as he only has eyes for her just the way she is. The subject matter and sincere tone of this track are refreshing in a world of provocative social media posts and undeserved fame that suggest that the opposite is true. While there are certainly different strokes for different folks, we are grateful to Stokley for paying homage to ladies who choose not to bare all and rest easy in their natural beauty.
