Bay Area-bred crooner Adrian Marcel released his debut album GMFU (Got Me F**ked Up) earlier this year and has spent the majority of his 2017 promoting the project. With the year winding down, and the weather getting just a little cooler, Adrian gives us something to slide onto our cuffing season playlists with the single "BEATITUP" andtakes the opportunity to show us a piece of sunny paradise in the music video.
Motivated by both lust and love, the mid-tempo track is about switching things up in the bedroom and Adrian makes his desires explicitly clear. The clip directed by Keoni Marcelo features Adrian in a bright pink tee and his muse in a barely-there bikini. He sings and dances atop a picturesque hill while his love interest splashes around in clear waters. Each scene adds to the stunning visuals that have us missing the summer something serious. While we're mesmerized by the picturesque scenery, Adrian cuts to the chase on the chorus, singing, "I don't wanna make love tonight / I wanna beat it up, beat it up now / I know we usually make love / But you know I wanna beat it up right now."
If you're looking for more tracks to add to your cuffing collections, Adrian released more tracks like "BEATITUP" on GMFU back in April. Since then, he's released visuals for "LUVJONES" and "Imagination," and we're curious to see where he takes us next. The Raphael Saadiq protégé is currently making his rounds to cap the year, and he'll be performing at an R&B Jam Night along with Michel'le and Netta Brielle and more in Sacramento, CA later this month.
