Deborah Cox Shows Us A Stunning, Colorful 'World'

Beyoncé once schooled us that a "diva is a female version of a hustler." Based on that definition, we can certainly think of several women who fit the bill. But few can match the grind of our girl Deborah Cox. Not only is her hustle game strong, she has the receipts to back it up. Triple-threat? Check. Multiple awards? Check. Humanitarian efforts? Globally-recognized queen of the dance charts? Only singer who has consistently slayed the Whitney Houston songbook for almost three years now? Check, check and check.

Earlier this year, as she wowed audiences in the role of Rachel Marron for the stage adaptation of The Bodyguard, Ms. Cox struck while the iron was hot with the release of her Houston tribute project I Will Always Love You. Anyone who can embody Whitney's vocal style for a sustained period of time, without sounding like a copycat or descending into a karaoke-like impression, deserves our respect. But lest you forget that she remains a gifted artist in her own right, she spent the summer burning up the charts with "Let The World Be Ours Tonight." In addition to spawning an eye-popping amount of remixes, the infectious track became her 13th number one on Billboard's Dance Club chart – ironically tying her with Houston's achievement in the same category.

The temperatures have dropped significantly since the song's summer debut, but Deborah is back to heat things up again as she dazzles in haute couture visuals. The video was directed by New York-based South African designer Marc Bouwer – known for his bold looks which have graced many red carpets –who loved the unity-themed song so much that he offered his services. Inspired by "optimism rising above adversity and negativity," he explains, "I wanted to show Deborah going through a journey above earth because the earth is in such turmoil now with global warming and all the environmental issues. Let's just take a moment and love the world we're living in."
