Childish Major Goes Through Relationship Highs & Lows In 'Supply Luh'

We were excited when South Carolina-born, Atlanta-based rapper/producer Childish Major stepped out from behind the boards, hopped into the booth and recorded the track “Supply Luh.” We were even more hype when we heard the J. Cole-produced joint featured during the second season finale of Issa Rae's HBO series Insecure. The infectious groove and melody of the track grabbed our attention the moment we heard it. Major rides the beat with perfection as he sings, “All this fight and s*t I kinda love it / Them tears, at least you're feelin' somethin' / For a minute I felt you're goin' numb / No calls did you get forget my number / I, used to love you / Love you, love you, love you like you never been loved before / Now it's just f*k you / F**k you f**k me like I ain't f**ked up enough.” While his take on the ups and downs of relationships isn’t reflective of the typical stance of most songs about love, its certainly relatable for those of us who need a bit of drama and like to keep things interesting.

For the accompanying visual, we watch as he and his woman go through it all. They go from looking cozy on the couch to his boo reading him from top to bottom in the kitchen while holding a phone to show she’s got receipts. All the stages of every relationship are captured in the Nik Popp-directed video, and the footage drags just a bit mimicking both the weary expression on Childish Major’s face, as well as the emotional weight a tumultuous relationship can bring.

Most know Major from his production work with the likes of Rocko, Future, Wiz Khalifa and even J. Cole for the title track of his album 4 Your Eyez Only. Back in June, he was featured on singer India Shawn’s cover of the track “What Love Is” along with singer/songwriter/drummer REM. Childish Major is now ready to branch out solo, with a full project entitled Woo$ah ready to drop on Friday, December 15th. While we wait a few more hours for the album to drop, get into the complicated love story of "Supply Luh," and be sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram so you can be the first to hear it.
