The-Dream Celebrates 'Yo Birthday' & 'Lovehate' Turning 10

It's been more than a minute since we heard new music from The-Dream. Sure, he's been keeping busy writing and producing for everyone from Solange to Justine Skye, in addition to mentoring unsigned talent on VH1's Signed. Now he's back just in time to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of his debut album, Lovehate, and break us off with some new sounds in the form of his single, "It's Yo Birthday."

Though it initially may seem that the song is a celebration of his debut work, from its opening seductive notes and equally racy lyrics, it is easy to tell that this born day celebration is all about getting his grown folk on with the lady in his life. Whomever this lucky lady is, she is certainly in for more than dinner and a movie as he waxes poetic about putting a bow on her "box" and knocking "that s**t out like an '89 version of Mike Tyson." It's crystal clear what his intentions are and from the sounds of it, it will surely be a birthday to remember.

From the looks of it, "It's Yo Birthday" is potentially a leftover from Lovehate's original tracklist. However, the talented artist also took to the IG to reveal that his next project, Sextape Vol. 1, is in the works. Although the post states, "RADIOKILLA RECORDS 2017," it's not certain if that is a typo or if we can actually expect a new project in the few weeks left in 2017. One thing is for certain, however; his fans will find that any news is good news when it comes to their fave.
