Naxxos & Dionne Bromfield Unleash Their 'Animal'

Austrian duo Naxxos have marked their return with a new sound, a new track and a new EP. Though their electronic and futuristic sound is still apparent, with the addition of smooth, soulful vocals by the late Amy Winehouse’s god-daughter and protégé, UK singer/songwriter Dionne Bromfield, their single “Animal” is a slight departure from their previous work. The seductive track is tailor-made for adult time with its penetrating, melodic groove and sultry sway. Bromfield tops it all off with slick-talking lyrics, letting her lover know she’s no rookie and didn’t come to play. In her crisp and confident tone, she lets her freak flag fly and sings, “If you gone fall then you better go home / You should be lucky ‘cause you never know / I can make your heart skip a beat when you’re inside me, oh no / Now you know I’m an animal.”

Friends and production partners, physician Max Meister and sound engineer Chris Schlamadinger, began making music in high school and then formed Naxxos, releasing their first track “New Orleans” in 2013, which marked their territory within the “tropical house” music genre. They have since boldly ventured into uncharted grounds, releasing their debut EP Animal this past December, which seamlessly blended deep bass, EDM, trap-style beats and much more. In a recent statement, they said, “We’ve made it our rule to always evolve our music. This way, we feel we can go anywhere without getting stuck again. The essence of our songs remains the same: melodic, lots of knocks and percussive elements.”

Give the Naxxos’ track “Animal” featuring Dionne Bromfield a spin below, and let its intoxicating groove and alluring lyrics pull you into a bold and sensual mood. Be sure to check out the full EP, which is available on all streaming outlets and digital retailers, and keep up with the duo on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
