Mary J. Blige Launches Jewelry Line With LL Cool J's Wife, Simone Smith
Mary J. Blige pulled double duty at ESSENCE Festival this year. Not only was she the Saturday night headliner, where she brought all her hits and signature dance moves to the stage while draped in a colorful Gucci outfit crafted by Dapper Dan, but she also debuted a new business endeavor while in NOLA. In collaboration with her sister-friend Simone Smith, jewelry designer and wife of hip-hop heavyweight LL Cool J, MJB unveiled their Sister Love jewelry collection. Inspired by their longtime friendship and described as "a jewelry line that represents women working together and recognizing each others strength and power," Sister Love launched with the Queen Hoops. Blige and Smith sold the earrings live and direct at the Convention Center during ESSENCE Fest and a few celebs were even seen rocking the accessories.
