Indie R&B darling Denitia spent the first half of the year serenading fans with several new tracks that left us summertime thirsty for an official follow-up to her Ceilings EP. After taking a short break, our girl is back with a major announcement: her new EP Be There is officially slated for an October release via Brooklyn boutique label, Styles Upon Styles. Thankfully, we don't have to wait until fall to get our first listen because she has gifted us with a new track entitled "Distant."
Self-penned and self-produced in the comfort of her beachside studio, the wavy synth, tropical vibes and reggae-leaning beats are just what our playlist needs as we make plans to say farewell to summer. Like a cool breeze, her vocals cut through the track's heated backdrop as she expresses a longing for a deeper connection with her special someone. Just as we get settled into the groove, an unexpected melodic shift delivers a seductive outro that we hope she explores further on the EP.
