No matter how hard you try, it's damn near impossible to avoid Drake's viral No. 1 hit "In My Feelings." What was originally just a track on his hit album Scorpion blew up thanks to comedian Shiggy and his Instagram challenge that took off like wildfire. Soon, celebs like Ciara, DJ Khaled and even Will Smith were in on the craze and the song was pretty much everywhere. Now Drizzy is finally cashing in on the craze with a star-studded clip for the song that takes us down to the Big Easy.
The "In My Feelings" video opens with Drake playing Romeo to La La Anthony's Juliet as he tries to court her outside of a luxurious plantation-style home. However, Kiki's mama — played by the regal Phylicia Rashad — ain't havin' any of them and sends him on his way. That kicks off the now all-too-familiar melody of the track as the rapper takes us on a tour of New Orleans. He kicks verses and rocks a grill in front of a mural of label boss Lil Wayne (who is conspicuously absent) and chops it up with a host of folks, including Big Freedia and Shiggy himself. We also get a brief feature from Yung Miami of rising duo City Girls. But the biggest star of the clip is New Orleans itself, as the video shows off a lot of the people and culture that makes the town great. At the video's end, we realize that it was apparently all a dream with a bit of comedy that again features Shiggy — this time as a pesky production assistant calling Drake to set.
Seeing as the video is pretty fun and folks can't get enough of #theshiggychallenge (the final moments of the video show all the celebs who took part in the shenanigans), we doubt that we'll stop hearing about Kiki any time soon. Since you can't beat 'em, you might as well join in the fun and check out the video below.
