The Rome, Italy-born and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter linked up with co-writer Jelli Dorman and producer Daniel Dalexis to create this song infused with R&B and trap elements as the foundation for her delicate, alluring vocals.
Despite its title, "Spiritual Level" isn't what you may think it's about according to LILI. "'Spiritual Level' is an intimate look into the thought of a ménage à trois. A love triangle that I decided to create in my head, without the other two knowing," she shares with us about what inspired her to pen the track with Dorman. LILI is having some pretty wild thoughts about a male friend who she'd like to be intimate with, which wouldn't necessarily be a problem if she wasn't already in a relationship with another man. Although that relationship isn't on the best of terms, she's committed to it and decides to get lost in her thoughts instead of getting caught up in real life.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to stay and make a bad decision / I don't want to be the one to lead on a lie," she declares in the song, wrestling with her attraction to one and her commitment to another. "Would be nice, but I'm too scared of what we could be," she second guesses herself on the chorus, not wanting to ruin what she has because of what she wants.
