Following the release of her beautifully transparent EP trilogy, singer/songwriter Tracy Cruz shares the visual for the lead single from the first installment H3artifacts. The 2017 Hollywood Music Award-nominated song “Losing In Love” was a touching introduction to the emotional journey towards healing from heartbreak, for which the trilogy would provide the soundtrack. The San Jose, CA native says she wrote the song at a difficult time in her life as she began her own process to cope with lost love, with the hopes of helping others to do the same.
The accompanying Kyle Henry-directed video captures all the sorrow and despair of Tracy’s voice as we watch a seemingly loving couple go from romantic bliss to despondency. We are immediately invested as she receives a text message from her beau, played by actor Dawayne Jordan, noting that he’s coming to pick up his belongings from her home. It’s as if the reality of their end has set in at that very moment. When her former lover does show, the look on her face gives no evidence of the fact she’s spent the day reliving and reminiscing over happier times with the help of old photos and videos. Instead, she hands him his things at the door as he struggles for the right words. For some, it’s a painfully familiar scene capturing all the feels of love coming to a crushing but necessary end.
