Sevyn Streeter Keeps Us 'Yernin' For More In New Lyric Video

Singer, songwriter and former RichGirl Sevyn Streeter is back on the scene with a new song and a lyric video to match. Originally debuting on this most recent season of HBO’s Insecure, “Yernin” is a smoltering track about letting these ni**as know you can do bad all by yourself -- and probably do better.

“Think I need to be alone for the night / I might do a little wrong, it'll be alright / Now you in a situation you don't like / Got you singing sad songs, you will be alright,” Sevyn spits over an uptempo bass heavy track. Sevyn and producer Kevin “KP” Pridgen flip The Gap Band’s “Yearning For Your Love” like Dominique Dawes, utilizing different elements of the 1980’s hit for great affect.

For the lyric video, Sevyn and her entourage party and bulls**t across Atlanta as the words to her song flash across the screen. We get scenes of the Sevyn Squad running through the Atlanta Beltline, shopping in the Little 5 Points neighborhood and enjoying a skate park. We also get some behind the scenes action as she gets ready for a show and performd on stage. These visuals are complimented by a few animated effects and filters. It’s a very fun and carefree clip that perfectly complements the track.

Sevyn is currently in the studio working on her next project, Drunken Wordz x Sober Thoughtz, for release some time in 2019. It will follow up her debut album, Girl Interrupted, that was released last year. While her last project didn’t quite live up to expectations, we’re already all about what’s to come from the “It Won’t Stop” singer. Hit play and let us know if Sevyn left you “Yernin” for more.
