Elle Varner & Wale 'Pour' Up A New Collaboration

It's so far been a six-year wait for Elle Varner's sophomore album, but it looks like we're getting closer to the new project's release with every new track. The songstress last dropped off the single and video for "Loving U Blind," which helped us see just what direction she wanted to take with her upcoming release. Now the "Refill" singer's just dropped her first single of 2019, and it's a sultry collaboration with rapper Wale called "Pour Me."

The mid-tempo ditty gives us a welcome '90s hip-hop soul kinda vibe, with heavy percussion and Elle's vocals soaring high over the beat. Wale is on hand to handle the top and middle of the song with clever quips about love. The song's title is also meant to have a double meaning, Varner explained to RatedRnB. "It's a double entendre about being a poor girl who's lost the love she wants. So, pour her another," she said.

Now that we have "Pour Me," we're pretty sure the new album will be worth a listen. And with Elle heading on the NYLA Tour with Marsha Ambrosius soon, we're hoping she'll perform her new singles live. Until we get a little more insight about her new album, go ahead and pour yourself your favorite drink and enjoy the latest from Elle Varner once you press play. You can also cop "Pour Me" now from your favorite digital retailer.
