Fresh off his GRAMMY win, dropping a new single and currently touring overseas in Australia and Asia with Maroon 5, it would be easy for PJ Morton to kick back and get some well-deserved rest. However, the multi-talented musician is doing anything but that thanks to his newly-announced Keys And A Mic Acoustic Tour.
Set to kick-off April 29th in St. Louis, the intimate tour will find Morton joined onstage by his Morton Records signees The Amours, his piano and microphone. This will mark the first time the Live Show Killer has gone on tour without a full band to back him. Taking to Instagram to announce the tour, he expressed his excitement at embarking on his first solo tour of the year. In addition to St. Louis, the tour will also make stops in Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, New York, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina and Nashville. "Gonna try this out in a few cities!" he proclaimed, potentially leaving the door open for the possibility of more dates being added to the 10-date jaunt.
In addition to backing their label boss, The Amours will also get a chance to perform some of their new music for the first time. The siblings have been hard at work in the studio as they ready their debut album on Morton Records. Although no date has been set for the album's debut, the two will be releasing "All the Time," the first single to come from the project this Friday, March 1st.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Thursday, February 28th at 3 pm EST via Morton's website. The tour also marks what is shaping up to be another busy touring season for the talented New Orleans native. Just ahead of the tour, Morton will take the stage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Earlier this week, he was also announced as one of the performers at this year's ESSENCE Festival where he will record his next live album.
