Despite Mother Nature not being able to make up her mind on whether it's spring or winter, summer is drawing near. And we know what summer means: music festivals! One such festival that we've come to know and love is Live Nation's R&B Summer Block Party, which has been going strong since 2015. The traveling block party continues in that tradition in 2019, tapping festival regular and recent birthday girl Jill Scott to headline.
This year, the festival expands to include four cities — Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston and Chicago — each with Jilly from Philly taking the stage. She'll be joined by a different lineup of guests in each city. Philly will see her joined by Jasmine Sullivan, Musiq Soulchild, Ma$e and DJ D-Nice on June 29th. In Dallas, it'll be ladies night on July 5th as Faith Evans and Tweet will take the stage. Houston will also see Faith along with Boyz II Men and up-and-comers Lucky Daye on July 6th. Finally, the July 13th Chicago date will close things out with performances from Ma$e, Carl Thomas and Anthony Hamilton.
It's safe to say that this is one block party you won't want to miss. If you'd like to attend, though, you'd better hurry as the concerts have sold out for every show in year's past. You can pick up tickets right now at Ticketmaster while they last.
