Solange Serves High Art & Glamour On The 'Way To The Show'

Like it or not, Solange is on her artistic s**t with When I Get Home and she isn't afraid to execute her vision in a way she sees fit. You need look no further than the album's accompanying short film and the subsequent videos she's releasing from it. We got a peek into Solange's vision of the black fantastic with "Almeda" and a look at an intimate twerk session with "Binz." Now Solo is giving us a look at black glamour in all its simplicity and fierceness in the clip for "Way To The Show."

The clip opens with a tight close-up on Solange before slowly panning out to slowly reveal the singer sitting on the floor, her wavy tresses draped on her shoulders. Further panning reveals the singer — along with the six dancers standing behind her — is rocking a black tube top and matching high-waisted short shorts and a bad-ass pair of high-heeled snakeskin boots. This is just one of many moments, as Solo channels the energy of Diana Ross in Mahogany as she serves a few simple yet breathtaking looks throughout, including one where she's clad in nothing but gloves, boots and the floor-length bundles cascading from her head.

Is Solo reinventing the wheel here? Of course not. But she's definitely presenting a unified and cohesive vision with this project. Get a look for yourself by pressing play below.
